Who we are
Looking for PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION?
Established in October 2010, Avesta Scotland Limited provide a wide range of services, primarily in the field of passive fire protection.
With qualified personnel, as per Government guidelines, we are third-party accredited to install a wide range of specialist installations, including structural steel protection, using both high and low density boards, together with sprayed application of intumescent coatings; reinstatement of fire compartmentation by service penetration sealing, using manufacturers’ tested solutions with ablative coated batt, intumescent acoustic mastic, graphite mastic and the ancillary items such as pipe wraps and collars – designed and tested to reinstate the compartment to prevent the passage of fire, smoke, heat and toxic gases in the event of a fire.
We offer all of these specialist services to both private and commercial clients, working in both new build and refurbishment projects, which generally require specialist involvement to ensure compliance is achieved whilst considering the existing structure, services, etc thus providing a single point of responsibility across a number of specialist trades.
Working throughout the UK, we offer the following:
- Passive Fire Protection
- Air Sealing – including testing in association with BSRIA
- Thermal Insulation
- Acoustic Installations – including testing in association with BSRIA
- Fire Risk Engineering
- Concrete Cutting Services
- Fire Risk Assessment
We are also able to offer Compartmentation Surveys, Fire Door Inspection and Fire Door Maintenance.
Passive fire protection works with active fire protection, such as sprinklers and fire extinguishers, to protect the structure of a building. All buildings are serviced with some form of heating, ventilations and power supply therefore the passage of these services provided can breach fire walls / compartment walls and allow a fire to spread from the room of origin. As such much of our installations cannot be seen, due to the location behind walls, below floors and above ceilings or in roof or riser voids, therefore to aid transparency to our clients and for future audit purposes, Avesta uses a specific software, the Bolster App, a fully automated cloud based programme to record our works. This digital platform allows clients access to our works, as they progress allowing full transparency to our installations and surveys. The locations and images, both before and after, can be a Surveyors best friend!
